World Environment week 2025
Day 1: Plantation:- This activity includes planting new plants in the school garden. For this activity the students are to be assisted by their teachers. Teachers are encouraged to help the students better understand the importance of planting trees by using slogans that discourages deforestation.
Day 2: Cleaning campaign:- This activity includes cleaning the areas nearby the school. The students must make use of gloves and masks while doing so.
Day 3: Waste Management:- For this activity, teachers need to explain and demonstrate the proper usage of dust bin to students. They must teach the students how dust bins are color coordinated for different purposes. By the end of this activity students must be able to properly dispose waste in their respective bins as per the nature of the waste.
Day 4: Documentary:- This activity focuses on audio visual learning, aiming for generating environmental awareness in students through documentaries and videos. Teachers are encouraged to host an interactive session at the end of the documentary with the students, with questions related to what the students have understood through the documentary
Day 5: Best out of waste – Art and Craft:- This activity focuses on giving a new meaning and purpose to materials that would have been discarded otherwise. For this activity, teachers are to assist students while they make art or craft items using waste materials like old newspaper, plastic bottles, scrap paper, boxes, etc.
Day 6: Awareness rally:- This last activity is an awareness rally where students will get on the streets and chant slogans to spread awareness. For the rally, teachers must assist the students to prepare posters and ply-cards with inspirational slogans written on them.
Day 7: Presentation Day:- All the participating schools are to report at the national botanical garden at 11 am sharp. Each school will be given a certain time for their presentation. The presentation must include the details of the preceding week, with information regarding how each activity was carried out along with pictures.
The students from each school will also participate in an ‘open art’ competition. The students are to paint or draw pictures on the theme “environment”. The materials required will be present in the venue, which is to be funded by the environment department of Godavari municipality.
Finally, the Program will be concluded after the closing ceremony. Each school is to prepare 1 performance act to present in the closing ceremony. The performance should not exceed 5 minutes. The required sound track and itinerary must be submitted to the organising committee beforehand
